My router keeps changing its IP address causing outages. Is there something simple I can do to resolve this? Thanks
It is possible that if your router is an older version, the firmware could be out of date. This could manifest as then probles with the DHCP server not functioning as it should and IP addressing issues.
Contact your provider, and if you’ve been with them a while, as them to send you out a new router if you’ve had yours for a while.
The routers most use are pretty cheap, and so they should do this for free. Will save you haveing to go into the Admin section and update the firmware yourself. However if you do need to do that, then you’ll need the admin credentials for the router, which they should give to you.
