Does anyone have any experience of using Powerline adapters? If so, which model should I use?
Powerline adapters are great if the electrical circuit between point A and point B uses the same ring on your fusebox.
You should expect to see a few Mbps lower on your speed result, as unlike a direct Ethernet connection, connection via powerline adapters can be affected greatly by EMI (electro-magnetic interference). Appliances that draw a high amount of power i.e. kettles, microwaves, hoovers etc can also cause increased interference which will result in further drops in speed or even packet loss.
I’d recommend having a read of his article on Tech Advisor - Best Powerline Adapters 2021: Powerline Reviews for a comparison of 6 different kits.
Thanks!
