Are all broadband providers just rebranding Openreach services for their broadband? Is it all essentially the same?
To an extent, Openreach have the majority foothold on the UK network - with the exception Virgin, Kingston Comms in the Kingston-upon-Hull area, and a few new carriers up and down the British Isles that are now utilising their own infrastructure.
This does mean however that if you get a line from TalkTalk, BT, Plusnet, Fuel etc… they’re using Openreach’s infrastructure, and Openreach’s engineers, to provide you with and maintain your broadband services.
The majority of the time, yes, carriers will utilise the already existing Openreach network as they were the one of the first to start creating their own infrastructure from the ground up.
